The CAT aspirants often feel confused during the course of their CAT preparation, in figuring out how to achieve the ideal accuracy in the mock tests or, the AIRCAT. To answer this query, the first puzzle that one might need to solve is what is the ideal accuracy and what needs to be done to achieve that. The problem is there is no such thing as an ideal number unless you score 100%. Apart from that deciding on an accuracy level can be difficult as this is relative to so many factors.

CAT exam preparation might seem tough but not with proper preparation and MBAGuru by your side!

So, what you need to be concerned about is not the accuracy that needs to be achieved, but, probably the desired number that you could hope to achieve. Although that number might not be accurate for every aspirant, as every single person’s preparation level varies from the other.

There are certain factors that need to be kept in mind when you begin your CAT exam preparation.

  • There are three sections in the CAT syllabus and not all aspirants would be equally good in all of these sections. Each person will have an individual set of strengths and weaknesses regarding all these different sections. So, in such a scenario it is hard to state a random number when not everyone is equally fluent.
  • There will be tougher areas where you need to play by strategy and have to be careful about the speed you are taking there. When you decide to complete the complex sections faster the only disaster would ensue, so, you need to be in control and have a strategy if you are intent on achieving the percentage you desire. Such strategies could be easily picked up from the best online CAT preparation course you are pursuing.

What is the solution?

  • Play to your strength and figure out which areas you are really good at. The sections you are adept at handling should be your focal point and you must be increasing your accuracy in these sections to maximize your score.
  • Sections which you find to be difficult must be handled with care and, in such sections, you must keep your speed in control. The slower you go the better are your chances of increasing your accuracy level.
  • On average, the 70%-90% range could be aimed at. Just keep on practising and learning through your CAT coaching, and everything will fall in place. However, you could still crack your CAT even without having reached this range in the mocks.

There are so many factors at play here, the difficulty level would vary, and so would other things, you just have to believe in yourself and your preparation to achieve success.
